Center for land use interpretation (CLUI)

« Dedicated to the increase and diffusion of information about how the world’s lands are apportioned, utilized and perceived. » The Center for Land Use Interpretation is a research organization involved in exploring, examining, and understanding land and landscape issues. The Center employs a variety of methods to pursue its stated aim, engaging in research, classification, extrapolation, and exhibition. Land Use Database The Center’s on-line Land Use Database is a resource of information on unusual and exemplary land use sites across North America. CLUI Exhibitions Programs, exhibits and lectures are held continuously throughout the year at The Center’s exhibit hall in Los Angeles, and at other museums and galleries across the United States. CLUI Projects The Center produces public exhibits, publications, tour programs, outdoor displays, events, and interpretive projects related to exploring the meaning of land use. Newsletter The Center publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Lay of the Land, which contains field reports from CLUI researchers as well as updates on CLUI programs and exhibitions. The current Summer 2000 issue and back issues are available on-line. Wendover The Museum Complex includes an exhibit hall, studio, and residence program at Wendover, Utah.
